Somos Así is a new, exciting and entertaining Spanish video series in 20 episodes, filmed on location in Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Colombia and Mexico).
Storyline:
In Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, the students of a performing arts high school aspire to become professionals in the entertainment world.
Julia and Sara are best friends studying drama. Julia becomes interested in Roberto, a music student, even though he is going out with Eva. Meanwhile Pablo, a Mexican foreign exchange student, shows interest in Sara who is reticent to be his girlfriend, but who eventually becomes good friends with him.
When Pablo receives news of an important casting for a new Mexican TV program, he decides to return to Mexico and leave behind his new friends in Colombia.
Pablo goes back to Mexico where we meet his mother and sister. Pablo's sister Marina is active in an environmentalist group. Pablo lands a job as a co-presenter for a new Mexican TV program, but misses Sara and his other Colombian friends.
Sra. Astorga, the Colombian drama teacher, arranges to take Julia and Sara to Mexico to present a new play in a Latin American high school theatre festival. The Colombian students raise the money for the trip by putting on a cultural event at their high school, where Roberto's group plays.
Once in Mexico the friends are reunited. Sara becomes involved in Marina's environmentalist group and wants Pablo to use his TV show as a vehicle for protest. Julia lets herself be flattered by Jorge, Pablo's best friend in Mexico.
The video series concludes with Pablo's attempt to deal with a surprise while presenting the TV program Somos así.
